 Post subject: Why does the Big Ten do poor in bowl games?

Is it the layoff because we don't have Conference championships? I don't buy in to the talent arguement. We have just as many good pro players as any other conference. I don't know what it is, but it is all the more reason for a tourney.

My theory has always been that they need to build teams/systems that can perform in foul/cold weather.
Pure speed is not their biggest concern. Power running is important.
The defenses don't play against the super speed teams during the course of the year, and can't adjust.
They don't recruit well where speed lives; florida, california, texas, arizona etc.
The 4.3 guy from Louisiana isn't impressed with the big house or the horseshoe, or even the golden dome for that matter.
